VersionsThe Story Behind Queen Radio: Volume 1's Missing Tracks
Pick up the vinyl of Nicki Minaj's first greatest hits set and you'll notice something missing: three songs that exist only on the full digital version.
The three missing tracks
Here's the hook behind the hook: physical copies of Queen Radio: Volume 1, along with the original digital release, omit tracks 2 through 4. That's three songs you simply won't find if you're spinning the record or playing the CD, even though they were part of the album as originally planned.
A career-spanning collection
Queen Radio: Volume 1 is Nicki Minaj's first greatest hits album, released August 26, 2022 through Young Money Entertainment, Cash Money Records, and Republic Records. It pulls songs from all five of her studio albums, plus her 2009 mixtape Beam Me Up Scotty and the Young Money compilation Rise of an Empire from 2014, making it a genuine tour through her catalog.
What the critics said
AllMusic's Andy Kellman called it a 'generous anthology' and gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars. Paper Mag's Kenna McCafferty felt the 28 tracks were 'perfectly selected,' describing the collection as jam-packed with some of Minaj's biggest bangers.
How it charted
The album debuted at number 10 on the US Billboard 200, earning 32,000 album-equivalent units in its first week, including 3,000 in pure album sales. That debut made Minaj the female rapper with the most solo top 10 albums in Billboard 200 history, with six.
The vinyl pressing itself
The vinyl edition arrived later, on July 7, 2023, in the US and Europe as a store-exclusive 3xLP set through Young Money, Republic, and Cash Money, released under UMG Recordings. Copies carry a 'Made In Czech Republic' sticker on the back, a small detail for anyone checking the pressing of their copy.
