Mixing
The next record, narrowed down for you.
Matching follows the Camelot wheel: the same key, one step up or down, or the relative major or minor. VinylDesk works out how far the pitch fader has to move and what that does to the key.
- Your tolerance. Choose how many BPM a track may be away from the one that is playing.
- Key lock or not. Tell the app whether your decks keep the key when you change the tempo. Without key lock the key shifts with the pitch, and the suggestions take that into account.
- Play at another tempo. Set the tempo you are actually playing at and the suggestions follow.
- Hear it first. A Spotify preview of the track, when Spotify has it.

What is playing right now?
Open the live tool and leave the phone next to the mixer. It keeps listening and shows the tempo and the key of the record that is playing, as it sounds with the pitch fader where it is. Underneath: the tracks in your crate that mix with it.
- For records you have not added yet. A friend's record, a test pressing, a white label: you still see what goes with it.
- Tap along when the tool reads half or double the tempo, and it moves to the right one.
- Another record on? The reading follows by itself.

Print a label for every track on ordinary label sheets. BPM, key and 33 or 45 in large type you can read in a dark booth, with the key in its Camelot colour.
